Imagine a retreat where you find one of the guys with carrots sticking out of ears and mouth, or all the ladies up in a tree, or someone raiding the group fridge late at night. No, it wasn't a youth retreat, it was Mexico Staff Retreat 2011

We came together from all different locations (Cuauhtémoc, Delicias, Durango, Guadalajara). We had only been together once before, in January. We joined together to celebrate and enjoy life together, and together we learnt about the importance of walking daily with God.

It felt good to be in the midst of a group of believers; laughing, crying, playing, praying, and learning together. It was really special to be able to celebrate communion together on Good Friday, being reminded of the substitution that Jesus made for our sins.
It was a rejuvenating week of fellowship, sessions on listening to God, sharing, swimming, scavenger hunts, and lots of good food. Possibly one of the best evenings included a time of sharing encouragement about each person. We always tend to think of just negative things about people, so this made us think of positive things and to share them. It's such a hard task to do, but such a blessing. It's possibly even harder to sit and listen to 7 others say good things about you. But wow what a blessing and encouragement. It truly did bring us all even closer together.
We left feeling encouraged, refreshed, and reconnected.
